Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviation and Aerospace Leaders​

Join STEM Flights, Eastern Michigan University Aviation, and our aviation industry partners for Aerospace Day at Willow Run Airport, a one of a kind immersive aviation experience for high school students interested in aviation, aerospace, engineering, STEM, and skilled trades careers.

Hosted at historic Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Aerospace Day gives students the opportunity to connect directly with pilots, aviation professionals, educators, and industry leaders through a full day of hands on learning and career exploration. Whether students already dream of flying or are simply curious about aerospace careers, this event is designed to inspire and introduce students to the exciting opportunities within the aviation industry.

Students will experience aviation up close through:
• Aviation and aerospace career exploration
• Hands on STEM and aviation activities
• Airport and aviation facility tours
• Static aircraft displays and interactive exhibits
• Opportunities to meet pilots, mechanics, engineers, military representatives, aviation students, and aerospace companies
• Information about flight training, college aviation programs, scholarships, internships, and aerospace career pathways

A limited number of flight experiences will be offered depending on pilot availability, weather, and the number of students registered. During registration, students may indicate if they would like to enter the lottery for a flight experience. Participating students will be randomly selected during the event.

For many students, Aerospace Day is their first opportunity to visit an active airport, step inside an aircraft, or meet professionals working in aviation and aerospace. Our goal is to help students discover new possibilities and inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace leaders.
